Sprint and T-Mobile announced they have reached a merger agreement that would combine the nation's third and fourth-largest wireless companies. The deal still has to be to be reviewed by the Federal Communications Commission and the Justice Department.
The combined company will be named T-Mobile. The new T-Mobile will look to create a 5G nationwide network and has identified areas such as: serving rural communities, increasing broadband access and business and governmental services.
The two companies previously held merger discussions and were unsuccessful in obtaining regulatory approval.
