NEBSA Updates - NEBSA Provides Informative 2.5 GHz Webinar for Tribes

NEBSA working with numerous Tribes, along with Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, T-Mobile, MuralNet, New Mexico PBS and Gray Miller Persh LLP provided a far-ranging webinar on 2.5 GHz issues to a national audience.

The webinar, "You Have A 2.5 GHz License, Now What?" was provided as a service to Tribes as the FCC is approving applications for new EBS licenses for Tribes across the country.  The webinar provided information for Tribal licensees, their legal and technical consultants, and other 2.5 GHz licensees whose licenses or EBS leases may overlap or abut Tribal lands.

A broad range of critical questions were addressed during the webinar including:

  • What are the FCC requirements and timing for build-out?
  • What does it mean to have an "Overlay License"?
  • How should Tribes deal with service area boundaries and frequency overlap issues?
  • What partnerships or collaborations might assist Tribes in moving forward in deploying their new licenses?
  • How might frequency swaps or leases be helpful in managing deployments?

These questions and many more were addressed by a diverse group of leading professionals including: experienced EBS spectrum attorneys and representatives from T-Mobile, the Lone Pine Paiute Shoshone Tribe, Santa Fe Indian School (representing over 19 pueblos), MuralNet and New Mexico PBS.

NEBSA members and webinar registrants can access the webinar online at the NEBSA website.
