About NEBSA
Executive Summary
The National EBS Association (NEBSA) is the professional association for those institutions who hold EBS (formerly ITFS) licenses.
The membership is composed of representatives from K12, post secondary and other education-related non-profit entities, many of whom have operated EBS systems for a number of years.
NEBSA members share information with one another and the association organizes an Annual Conference each year, typically in February, to discuss issues of importance to members.
Additionally, the National EBS Association (NEBSA) is a non-profit corporation established in 2007 to form a bridge from the present to the future via a "Vision" of the past, the present and the future for EBS/ ITFS.
NEBSA will continue the objectives set for NIA in 1978 to provide avenues for communication among the educational institutions and non-profit organizations that hold licenses in the Educational Broadband Service spectrum band.
NEBSA will continue to be the leading advocate for use of the spectrum set aside for education by the FCC, to represent the interests of EBS licensees at the FCC, and to provide an expanded forum for exchange of information and advice on the new technologies, new educational applications, and commercial relationships.
And, NEBSA will continue to provide the means to accomplish these goals by continuing to employ FCC Counsel in Washington, D.C., maintain the NEBSA List Serve, which it makes available to all with EBS interests, and conduct an Annual Conference and Meeting in which experts in the fields of FCC Rules, education, and technologies provide attendees with the most current information and developments in their fields.
The Bigger Picture
The National EBS Association is a Non-Profit, Virtual Corporation. Board Members and Officers are Members who volunteer their time and talents to fulfill their elected office responsibilities and help govern the Association.
