Was the theme for the NEBSA/NIA 2008 Annual Conference and Meeting in February 2008, when NEBSA/NIA met in Newport Beach, California to celebrate NIA's Thirtieth Anniversary and a new identity for the Association that shows it is now working on behalf of Educational Broadband Service  (EBS) providers.

A lot has changed since 1978, and no where have the changes been greater than in educational telecommunications.

So, from the time when attendees arrived in Newport Beach for the Opening Reception On Monday, February 18th and until after the Final Event on Wednesday evening, February 20th, they expected that their time and money would be well spent and they were not disappointed..

We stayed in the recently modernized Fairmont Newport Beach Hotel with a $169 per night rate, single or double (S/D), that was good from Saturday, February 16th through Friday, February 22nd for those who wanted to add vacation time to official business.

As encouragement for prospective attendees  to register right away, we asked them to consider this comment from a long time NIA Member who has been a regular attendee at our Annual Meetings.....

"My attendance at last year's conference has paid for itself several times over with the information I gleaned while we pursue out lease.  That to me is the ultimate benefit of membership and attendance."

Once again the NEBSA/NIA Annual Convention covered the waterfront of topics and issues that confront them as they seek to preserve and obtain the maximum benefits from EBS spectrum. 

They counted on expert advice on leasing, on what and when the FCC is likely, or not likely, to do, and what their best moves are on the white (unlicensed) space between them and other adjacent licensees.

And, they were asked to remember that the FCC still holds their licensee responsible for assuring that their spectrum leases delivers  the required minimum educational service.  At NEBSA/NIA 2008 they also heard from other licensees who are , or will be, dong that and more.
